Arrived in Johannesburg from London in the morning and went birding with Selwyn from Rockjumper in the afternoon.

| Sunrock Hotel - Close to the airport.  Spent two nights here.  Comfortable |

| Sunrock Hotel Gardens - Feeders did attract many birds. |

| Laughing Doves at the Sunrock Hotel |

| Red-headed Finches - Plenty of these at the Sunrock Hotel but a near endemic and not seen elsewhere on our trip. |

| Red-headed Finches |

| Fiscal Flycatcher - Also in the Sunrock gardens.  This regional endemic was seen on several days during the trip. | 
  | 
| Grey-headed Gulls- This breeding colony was close to the airport. |

| African Darters  |

| Brown Snake Eagle - There were several sightings during the trip. | 
  | 
| Spotted Thick-knee - Only seen on this day, although common enough in open fields as it began to get dark (while we were searching for Grass Owls!). |
